THE AMAZING STORY OF RÍOSUCIO IS CARNIVAL




In colonial times did the feud between two villages: Quiebralomo Real de Minas, mulatto population, one of the richest mining camps of America in the sixteenth century by the Spanish managed to serve the king of Spain and The Mountain, village Indian.
After a century of confrontation and thanks to the intervention of two Catholic priests, who threatened the inhabitants of the two villages with eternal damnation to follow at war, ended up sharing territory, thus giving rise to the current population of Ríosucio.
To seal the peace pact between the two people, these were joined together in the festivities of Kings in 1847. RIOSUCIO’S DEVIL CARNIVAL
The Devil is Ríosucio cultural syncretism whose image contains some elements of Judeo-Christian devil, but conceptually it is tied to the meaning of evil. The Devil's Carnival is the custodian of the party. As clearly is described in texts on Carnival's official website, the Devil riosuceño is:
An inherited mood Aboriginal cultural tradition of the mixture of cultures and races who  lived the western part of what is now called Caldas. It is an inspiring spirit of many things as preparing the ears for music and body for dance. It is who inspires writers and poets to make the verses and songs. [...] A symbol is a true reflection of the masquerade of life. He stands as the central figure and then burn it ceremonially in playful acts. [...] His figure changed with the passage of time and at no time is an idol. He is in the heart of each riosuceño friendly to enable Carnival.

The Republic's Carnival



Ríosucio’s Carnival is an important cultural intangible heritage Colombia.
The Carnival is governed by a sovereign government, composed of president, mayor and officials, as authority that must be obeyed by locals and visitors. It is responsible for issuing the decree promulgating laws peace, brotherhood and joy.
Besides the sovereign government, the Republic of the Carnival has one matachín, the decrees maker, the barker, the flagship, the officers and leaders of youth and children's gang, his main characters, when they party makers.
Ríosucio Carnival: Carnival longest Colombia
Ríosucio Carnival has the distinction of being the longest party of Colombia and, perhaps, the world, it starts in July with the Decree of the Republic Installing Carnival and culminates in January, when the party comes to an end with Testament farewell merrymaking is done with the Dungeon Burial and Burning of the Devil, ending the spell of "cane juice" or chichi strong of cane and accepting the end of the reign of the Devil ... until the next Carnival.

Crews sung on Sunday are perhaps the most important activity in the Carnival. Unlike Rio Carnival crews, who are on the street and have about 300 people, are Riosucio camera, so they have about 12 people, adequate numbers for a living house.
